FH: Cambodia 1-0 Myanmar

Cambodia started brightly and with the swagger is a team that won 5-0 in their last game. Once again most of the good build up play came down the right hand side and of course Ratanak at the center of everything. The goal came just on 15 minutes after a passage of good pressure from Cambodia. They were not creating many chances but Myanmar couldn’t get their foot on the ball and the Khmers were forcing errors. A poor defensive header fell to Lyhour who controlled on the bounce and caught the ball sweetly on the way up for it to fly into the top corner. Nine times out ten they end up in the sky but today the top corner.

Going into half time a goal up what would’ve please Felix the most would’ve been the professionalism of the display so far. Giving nothing away.

SH: Cambodia 1-1 Myanmar

The not giving anything away would last 87 minutes. The second half was much the same as the first, Cambodia dominating territory and forcing errors without being too creative.

Myanmar had to throw something at us eventually and they began to do so around 75th minute.

In the 88th minute, a line hopeful kick up field wasn’t dealt with. Why the center backs haven’t headered the ball I’ll never know but the bounce caused chaos. A weak tackle allowed a shot which was saved but the rebound falling nicely to Maynmar center forward Zhing who trapped into an empty net.

What Did We Learn?

Cambodia are capable of unbelievable levels of professionalism and are growing every game under Felix. They have a Thailand team now who are already through but that won’t make things any easier.
