The AFF U23 championship is well under way and it’s already shaping up to be an interesting tournament.
Thailand 1-3 Indonesia
The host nation were knocked out the tournament in a repeat of the SEA Games final. Indonesia dismantled the host nation with a impressive display. A frantic start saw Indonesia two up in twenty five minutes to be pegged back on the half hour mark but would go into half time with a 3-1 lead. The second half was played in one half of the field but stood their ground.
Malaysia 1-4 Vietnam
Vietnam put in a display worthy of champions as they beat a Malaysian side not up to the task. Vietnam were three up after fifty minutes and Malaysia hadn’t registered a shot and only three touches inside the opponent penalty area.
They did eventually pull one goal back but not before Vietnam added a fourth.
The Final…
Saturday night will see Vietnam face Indonesia with both teams in fine form.
