Alistair Heath and Angkor Tiger have continued their recruitment drive with the signing of experienced English defender Ben Nugent. The news was released on the official Angkor Tiger Facebook page.

Who is ben Nugent?

Somewhat of a journeyman footballer Nugent began his career at Cardiff City before a career moistly in the third and fourth tiers of English football.

Last season he played for Gloucester City in the National Legate North, the 6th tier of football within the English pyramid.

He transfer marks the second this week by Siem Reap based Angkor Tiger after   the signing of promising 21 year old Filipino full-back Pocholo Arellano Bugas. The club have been keen to tighten up at the back after finishing second from bottom of the Cambodian Premier League last season.

Who else do they need to sign?

Quite simply the club now need to sign forwards. For a while last season Tiger had the most exiting front three in the league with Iago, Gabriel and Mouzinho. These players have all now moved to pastures new, with the two Brazilians now at Svay Rieng while Mouzinho has since signed for Visakha.

You can read our Mouzinho article here.

Currently Víctor Blasco remains their sole marquee striker, with the club still able to make one more foreign signing.
