Benfica to Run Camp in Cambodia

Uefa qualified coaches from football giants Sport Lisboa e Benfica are to travel to Cambodia for a one week football camp to be held at the prestigious Northbridge International school in Phnom Penh.

The announcement came via the Facebook page of local company CJ Coaching which is run by former Visakha FC head coach Colum Curtis.

CJ Coaching are generally considered the best football academy within Cambodia, with Colum from a licensing point of view the most qualified coach currently plying his trade within the Kingdom.

The Cambodian Benfica Camp

Specific dates or requirements were not mentioned, with the main emphasis being on the fact that Benfica were coming to town and that spaces were limited.

Benfica are the most successful club in Portugal and one of the most successful in Europe having won a record 11 Primera Liga titles, two European Cups’s and even the coveted “treble”.

They are not the first European giants to have arranged a training camp in Cambodia, with AC Milan doing similar with Next Step almost 10 years ago.
