The first trophy of the season concluded with Phnom Penh Crown beating old rivals Nagaworld on penalties. The decisive kick being converted by Pisoth in front of 5,000 fans at Old Army Stadium. We take a look back at the highs and lows of this year’s competition.
Player Of The Tournament (Foreign/Khmer)
Foreign: Marcio from Naga was the outstanding player for me just beating teammate Christian. The two are going to be frightening this season and if they can recruit well they will be unplayable.
Khmer: Muslim from PPC for me. He has come on leaps and bounds under Oleg and his role on the right hand side allows him to show every aspect of his game.
Golden Boot
Marcus Haber finishes the tournament as the top scorer with 10 goals despite his sides failure to qualify. The Canadian continues to impress.
Creative Genius
Gabriel & Muslim share this honor with 4 assists each. Both under rated within their squads but clearly have an eye for that key pass.
Number 1
Kirivong Goalkeeper, Vansak, just edges out Yaty for me as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. He faced a total of 33 shots saving 22 of them. and was influential in getting Kirivong to an unexpected semi final.
