The excitement of the SEA Games is over and it’s back to domestic action. We had all better enjoy it whilst it lasts because with the amount of clubs going out of business this summer who knows if we will even see a league season. With no word from CPL or the FFC football fans across the country will be praying that things can be sorted before August.
Both Games Are Finely Balanced…
Naga will travel to Vishaka with a 1-0 lead getting the first leg that was as physical battle as you will ever see in Cambodian football. Vishaka have been in great form so far this season although many will question the openents they’ve faced up until now.
In the other game Crown continue to look unstoppable at the moment and will take a 2-0 lead home against Kirivong. The green and white army from Takeo are no pushovers and will give everything they have at the RSN Stadium.
Phnom Penh Crown vs Kirivong (3-0)
It’s been a tough year for every club with no one really being able to get momentum with such long breaks between games and league seasons.
However Crown keep going from strength to strength and everytime we see them they’ve improved. Kirivong are one of the surprise packages of the competition and I’m really excited to see what they can do this season. This game however will be a step too far.
Prediction; Crown 3-1 Kirivong
Vishaka vs Nagaworld (0-1)
This one is a really tough one to call. Naga have been excellent and could become a real force over the next two years and back to where they believe they should be. They’ve got pace, power and are organized defensively. They will need to be at their best. Vishaka created chances in the first leg but will need to make sure they keep their cool. Naga were brilliant with their gamesmanship, fouling and slowing the game down when needed. Home advantage and a better track record of big game wins will be enough for Vishaka this weekend.
Prediction; Vishaka 2-1 (Vishaka win on Pens)
