The Cambodia League Cup returns this weekend with the1st leg of the semi finals. The group runners up will play at home first with the ‘advantage’ given to the group winners who play the second leg in front of their own fans, albeit a month apart because of the SEA Games.
Nagaworld VS Vishaka
Undoubtedly the toughest of the two fixtures to predict and one that could go either way. Common sense would tell Vishaka well come out on top and they’re probably going to in my opinion, however this will be the first real test of the new regime and one in which they will need to be at their best to overcome.
Naga will want to stamp their marker down as a title challenger this season alongside Vishaka and Crown. The uncertainty at Svay Rieng and Boeung Ket means someone the door is open.
Vishaka need to begin adding titles to their cabinet and they want to start laying a marker down to become an AFC Champions League regular, anything less will not validate the amount of money invested in the club.
Kirivong VS Phnom Penh Crown
A little less unpredictable but maybe no mistake any team with nothing to lose can be dangerous.
For Kirivong this is a free hit, go play with freedom and try to strangle the life from Crown and who knows you might just snatch it.
For Crown this is a tie very much a banana skin. Taken lightly they could come unstuck but knowing Oleg and the Crown boys they won’t be anything less than fully professional.
Over the two legs they will have enough to book a place vs an old rival in Naga or their best enemy Vishaka.
