Former manager of Viskaha FC Colum Curtis is to restart his managerial this Saturday, with his first match in charge of Manila based Kaya FC.
Curtis, who was recently named the new manager of Kaya FC previously served as assistant to Conor Nestor at PKR Svay Rieng, before taking the top job at Visakha. Nestor also recently left the Kingdom, taking a job in the Indian Super League.

The Copa Paulino Alcantara
His opening match will take place in the Copa Paulino Alcantara, also known as the PFL Cup, It is named after Paulino Alcantara a Filipino- Spanish national who played for FC Barcelona in the inter-war period. Sadly the last Filipino player of any real note.
Considered the most prestigious knock-out competition in the country, it was first held in 2018. The 2023 edition sees 17 teams drawn into three groups, with the top 8 clubs moving on to the quarter-finals, semi-finals which will be held over two-legs, whilst the final will be a one off winner takes all affair.
First match in Copa Paulino Alcantara
Kaya F.C – Iloilo, who were drawn in group A have yet to play a match, despite the group starting on July 15th, with their opening game being away against the well supported and successful Manila based Loyola FC.
Curtis was recently unveiled as their new coach during a press conference held by the club and will be in the hot seat when the club take part in the upcoming 2023-24 AFC Champions League – the highest regional football competition in Asia.
The club though are expected to struggle in the completion, which also features the big hitters from nations such as Japan, Australia, and China, as well the big spenders of Saudi Arabia.
