Kaya 7 Loyola 0

While this will hardly be the hardest match Kaya are likely to face, particularly with the AFC Champions League coming up, they still played great football and pulled off  a cracking result in their first match under Curtis’s tenure.

For the first 10 minutes the club dominated to such a degree that Loyola quite literally did not get into the Kaya half.

The deadlock was duly broken in the 11th minute when Sendra scored the first of two goals from a corner. Arboldea then scored the goal of the match in the 22nd minute with an absolute screamer, before two more were added before half-time.

The second half started slower, but the club still managed to put three more in the net, to leave it 7-0 at the close of play at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The match marked the second of three games held at the stadium on the day, with fans freely allowed to come and go as they pleased, with probably less than 1000 in attendance for the game.

Curtis though was happy about the result remarking to BPVE if we had noticed his trademark “attacking style”, as well as sporting a Desportol made Angkor City Football Club shirt for a photograph.

Quite how he does in the AFC Champions League is yet to be seen, but should he do well then it is likely that Cambodian clubs with be lining up to take him back home.
