Why is he leaving the club?

According to people present at a sponsors event for the club held last Wednesday the PKR Svay Rieng Chairman announced the departure of Conor stating he had been offered a “Big opportunity to coach in the Indian Super League”, although the specific club he will be joining was not announced.

The Indian Super League is one of the most lucrative and well paying competitions in Asia and regularly attracts high level players in the swan song of their careers, such as ex EPL star and World Cup winner Nicolas Anelka

What next for PKR Svay Rieng?

Losing the most successful coach in the clubs history, as well as perhaps the best in Cambodia will no doubt be a blow to the team many felt would be champions in 2023-24.

The club have announced that a new coach will be named shortly and as one of the best ran clubs in the country they are still likely to be CPL challengers.

Why was he not made national manager?

Despite the positive vibes many are now feeling about the hiring of Felix Dalmas as the new national coach, many will be asking why Conor Nestor was neither appointed, nor approached about the top job, with many – us included seeing it as hugely wasted opportunity.

You can read bout the appointment of Felix Dallas here.
