The new season is almost upon us and everybody is going crazy with anticipation at what to expect.
Can anyone stop Crown? Svay Rieng summer shopping spree to pay off or will Vishaka be the main threat. Tiger & Kirivong beat the drop, can new boys Prey Veng and ISI hack it at the level?
The August fixtures have given us a some real intriguing ties, here is the BPVE guide to the CPL fixtures to watch out for and those that can be sacrificed for a hot date.
The Big Hitters…..
Svay Rieng vs Crown (11-Aug)
It’s a FRIDAY night game!!! Well done to whomever made this decision. I’m always frustrated when the big boys meet early but I gave a feeling this season all matches between the top 3 will all matter come the end of the season.
Vishaka vs ISI (20-Aug)
It’s not a title decider by any stretch of the imagination but it will be game I can see full of goals and excitement.
Naga vs Crown (26-Aug)
The old enemies meet and this will be a real big test for the champions.
If you have to miss a game miss one of these..
Vishaka vs Kirivong (5-Aug)
This has a home win all over it and should be a comfortable opening weekend for Vishaka. No disrespect to Venta and his men, they’ve been excellent but Vishaka are clicking through the gears.
B.Ket vs Tiger & Kirivong Army (13-Aug)
I’m taking my wife shopping that afternoon.
What should you be watching for?
Crown opens up against Boeung Ket, travels to Svay Rieng, plays Naga away before a home tie with Army. That’s a tough opening set of fixtures.
ISI begin with two home games against Tiger and Prey Veng before Vishaka and Svay Rieng. Getting early points on the board could be the key.
A Quick Prediction…
On September 1st Vishaka will be top of the table, Crown & Svay Rieng just behind. ISI will be the surprise package in 4th place. At the other end, Prey Veng will be bottom Tiger just above.
