Felix Given Opportunity For Good Start

The Draw for the AFF U23 Championship took place this morning with Cambodia being given the chance to right some wrongs. The competition will take place in mid August in Thailand and new head coach Felix will be feeling very positive about the possibility of progressing beyond the group stages.

A Closer Look At The Group…

In Group A with the host nation will be daunting but I can’t thing if a better time to be playing Thailand. Defeat against Indonesia will be fresh, many players have quit and the whole footballing nation under internal investigation after the fighting in the SEA Games final. Brunei are improving all the time but Felix will pretty confident that we have enough firepower to overcome what is a young footballing nation. Then Myanmar make up the 4th team in the group and a chance for us to put some doubters right. They outclassed us tactically but that shouldn’t be the case with Felix now at the helm.

Minimum Expectations

For everyone I think we would all like to see us play with more purpose and excitement. Yes we’re a small nation but the best things in life come in small packages. We must play to our strengths and begin to develop a Khmer identity.
