ITF Asian Junior Championship Enters Final Day

The ITF Asian Junior Championship has entered its fourth and final day in Phnom Penh. The tournament the first of its kind to held in the Kingdom is being hosted at the Morodok Techo national Stadium.

So far the tournament has not only been a resounding success, but has also seen a few upsets heading into the finals.

ITF Asian Junior Championship Day Three Results

Boys singles Semi-finals

Alex Lap Hui (HK) (3) defeated Aarav Chawla (Ind) 7-5 7-5 and Sin Hang Tam (HK) (8) defeated Dharma Pantaratorn (Tha) (4) 6-1 6-2

Girls singles Semi-finals

Yeri Hong (Kor) (3) upsets seeded no 1 Haritha Shree (Ind) 6-4 6-3 and enters finals, in second Semifinals of the day Tarita Hongsyok (Tha) (4) defeated Ilima Guseynova (Tkm) 7-5 6-0.

Boys doubles finals

In the boys doubles finals seeded no 1 pair Alex Lap, Hui/ Sin Hang Tam defeated Korean pain Dongjae Kim / Wonmin Kim in a hard fought match in decider Tie breaker with a score of 4-6 7-5 (10-8).

ITF Asian Junior Championship Final Day

The boys final will see Alex Lap Hui (HK), who was unseeded take on 8th place seed and fellow countryman Sin Hung Tam.

The girls singles will see Yeri Hong of South Korea take on Tarita Hongsyok of Thailand, while the women’s doubles will Yeri team up with Yan Rong Tzeng (of Taipei to take on the Indian pair of Haritha Shree Diya Ramesh.

As well as the finals the last day will also see the closing ceremonies of the competition.
