Visakha FC have again showed their intent to challenge this year with the signing of 28 year old Brazilian star Jorge Eduardo Pedro Júnior.
The announcement which came via the Visakha social channels stated that Jorge Eduardo would join from FJ Djugas of the Lithuanian A Lyga, the top-tier of football within the country. Former Cambodian national coach Keisuke Honda spent the 2021 season plying his trade in the same division.

Who is Jorge Eduardo?
A talented forward who can count Neymar Junior among his former teammates, he has spent most of his time as a journeyman footballer in Brazil, with stints at top clubs including Santos FC and Portuguesa.
In 2022 he made the move to Lithuania where he scored a respectable 4 goals in 34 performances.
What will his role be at Visakha?
He has taken the number 77 shirt and is expected to line up with fellow Brazilian new signing Jonata up front, with support from attacking midfielder and Timor-Leste captain Mouzinho. This arguably sets up what could potentially be the most exciting from three in Cambodian football.

The signing means Visakha now have 6 foreign players on their books, including the regulation 4 FIFA players, 1 AFC and 1 AFF player. It follows on from the CPL confirmation that they would be following the 4+1+1 rule.

Many top sides are expected to bolster their squads following the confirmation of the rule, with there being just a mere 18 days left in the International transfer window. The same though cannot be said for CPL 2 clubs, who are yet to have the league format for the coming season confirmed.
