EXPECTATIONS
Expectations are low and no one will see Laos as any kind of threat for a medal however they won’t be there making up the numbers either.
This generation of Laos players is a massive improvement on what’s come before them and there is optimism that in a few years they could be a threat.

Any 1 of 4 could finish second in Group A but host nation Cambodia and Timor are better placed.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Myat Kaung Khant, this midfield general is a rising star although he is already very well established. Box to box, keen on the tackle but with an eye for a defense splitting pass.

TEAM FOCUS: Philippines
EXPECTATIONS
The Filipinos are passionate about their football and will want to to put on a good show. They’re no pushovers but long gone are the days they can compete to be winning prizes.
THE GROUP
Any 1 of 4 could finish second in Group A but host nation Cambodia and Timor are better placed. The battle for 4th with Maynmar will be interesting.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Scott Woods, the defensive midfielder likened to Makelele is the heartbeat of the midfield and powerful opponent for anyone.
