Reigning champions Phnom Penh Crown have completed the signing of Myanmar international Soe Moe Kyaw according to an official statement from the club.
The signing marks the 6th foreign player to be registered for the club, as well as its sole ASEAN player, in line with the foreign player regulations brought in by the CPL for the 2023-24 season.

Who is Soe Moe Kyaw?

Soe, who is 24 years old is a talented centre-back and at 6 foot 1 (1.86 meters) is expected to add some strength to Crown’s back line as they aim to retain the championship for a third straight year.
Soe joins from Kasetsart F.C of the Thai League 2, the second-tier of the football pyramid in Thailand. Last year he made 16 appearances for the club finished 15th.
Phnom Penh Crown recently completed a tour of Thailand where they played pre-season friendlies against a number of clubs.
What does it mean for Crown?
Despite winning the league last year Oleg Starynskyi’s die where at times critiqued for being too leaky at the back. It is hoped that this signing will do its part in addressing this problem.

After winning the League Cup should Crown also take the Super Cup on July 30th then they stand a good chance of making a clean sweep of every trophy available in Cambodian football, a feat never achieved by any other team.
