Super Cup Day

The Cambodian Premier League are planning on Turing the 2023 Super Cup into a bonanza celebration rather than just your average run of the mill curtain raiser football match.

The news comes as clubs in both CPL 1 and CPL 2 have been invited to participate in what is being dubbed “Super Cup Day”.

What is Super Cup Day?

Firstly the day of the Cambodian Super Cup, but what is making this one different is tat clubs are being invited to set up stalls from 9 am – 8 pm (match expected too art at 7,30), here they can sell club merchandise, but also generally promote their clubs.

This may include star players coming along to sign autographs, or even as one club has suggested having a star keeper there ready to take on some penalty kicks.

The communique further details that there will be a fan zone at the National O,ymoic Stadium, as well as general plan for where clubs will be positioned.

Currently it is too early to say which clubs will take part, or indeed what they will do, but we at BPVE certainly feel that it is potentially not only a great marketing move from the CPL, but also a fabulous way to kick off the 2023-24 Cambodian Premier League season.

The CPL might not be perfect, but they are at least certainly trying to innovate.
