In another genius move by the Cambodian Premier League football fans will be treated to live Friday night football courtesy of BTV. The move will mean armchair football fans will be able to watch the beautiful game throughout the coming weekend.
The match, will not only see PKR Svay Rieng take on reigning champions Phnom Penh Crown, but will also see the unveiling of the revamped Svay Rieng Stadium.
Friday night football
It is believed that the CPL originally planned to host CPL games on Saturday, with the idea being for CPL 2 to take place on Sundays, as per last season. Clubs though were in favour of spreading out the matches in order to increase TV exposure.
The CPL recently re-signed with TV network BTV who will now show a number of CPL games live, welcome news for armchair fans within the Kingdom.

Newly revamped Svay Rieng stadium
PKR Svay Rieng, who already boasted one of the best club stadiums in Cambodia have spent the summer renovating their stadium, with this being the first match here since said changes.
Speaking exclusively to BPVE Svay Rieng General-Manger Chris Grant told us “We are really excited about the developments. We have now increased parking, have a new field, sprinkler system and most excitingly the fans zone, which is something we are looking to further develop”.
Said fan zone not only hosts food and beverage services, but the club plan to have themed events to further enhance the match day experience.
The full renovations though are not yet complete with Grant stating the new stand would be finished “within a month”.

And if the club, under new manager Pep Munoz can pull of a result against Crown, then the fan zone will certainly be the place to be tomorrow night.
