Vet Chantha Wins 3rd Gold Medal at 12th ASEAN Para Games

Cambodian Athlete Vet Chantha  won another gold medal in the women’s 200 meter race at the 12th ASEAN Para Games which are being hosted in the Kingdom.

This marks the talented athletes 3rd gold medal so far with her also taking the top prize in the long jump and the women’s 400-metre T44/64 race.

The latest gold medals

Her third gold now puts Cambodia on 6, with 5 coming from athletics and one in the 3 x 3 women’s wheelchair basketball event.

The games which are being hosted for the first time by Cambodia are taking place between June 2nd through 9th with Cambodia being represented by 252 athletes of the more than 1200 that are taking part in total.

Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam are also taking part in the games.

In total fourteen sports are being reparented at the games, which aside from athletics and wheelchair basketball also includes e-sports.

Cambodia obtained 28 medals (7 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze) at the last ASEAN Para Games, which were held in Indonesia.
