Japan vs Sweden
This will be one of the toughest games to call at the weekend and could honestly go either way. You could see both winning 3-0 or a nail biting 1-0 either way. Pens I would fancy Japan. I think the Swedes are one of the best in the competition and if you had a little money they would be my card dark horse bet.
Prediction: Japan 2-3 Sweden
Spain vs Netherlands
Once again this is a tie with two teams with contrasting styles of play that both are capable of doing damage. The Spanish are easier on the eye, the Dutch tending to utilize their sheer power in midfield.
Prediction: Spain 1-1 Netherlands (3-4 Pens)
England vs Colombia
Lauren James suspended for 2 games but the tournament favorites should still have too much for the south Americans. Usme has 4 goals and will be a threat but the English usually follow a shaky performance with a confident one and on Saturday afternoon they will do just that.
Prediction England 3-1 Colombia
France vs Australia
The French are too strong for the Aussies surely? The hosts can never be dismissed easily and Sam Kerr returning will give them cause to be optimistic but the French just have too much going forward.
Prediction: France 3-0 Australia
Player of The Tournament Nominations
Spain have Redondo on the right who’s been fantastic, the Dutch it’s Beerenstyn who would be pick of the bunch.
