Day Number: 7
A review of the days action…
As expected both Spain and Japan booked their places into the round of 16 with wins over Zambia and Costa Rica respectively.
The Japanese struck twice in the opening 25 minutes against Costa Rica and comfortably saw out the second half at the Forsyth Barr Stadium.
The Spanish were in a much more ruthless mood as they demolished Zambia 5-0 at Eden Park with Redondo and Hermoso scoring two goals each.

Group C is finished after two games each…
The final game of the day saw the Irish take on Canada, a game in which had significance regarding the co-hosts Stairs
Australia. The Irish took an early lead only to be pegged back on half time and then go behind just after the break. Canada ran out the clock to win the game 2-1
What did we learn?
Spain could be dangerous in this competition, granted they’ve been teams they should but they’ve done scoring 8 goals and conceding 0.
Canada will need to be more convincing in their final group game against the Aussies.
What’s coming tomorrow?
The Americans have a tricky tie against the Dutch who are always difficult to predict. Portugal take on Vietnam and the day finishes with the Aussies taking on a tough Nigerian team.
Killing It or Having A Shocker?
Zambia and Costa Rica being woefully easy to beat. Shocker!
#killingit 4 – 3 #havingashocker
