A review of the days action…
Sweden came from a goal down to overcome a very organized South Africa team. The South Africans frustrated Sweden for long periods and stunned everyone taking the lead just after half time. The game was frantic from this moment, the Swedes managed to equalize with just over q5 minutes to go and then in the 90th stole it in the cruelest fashion.
The Dutch opened with a 1-0 win over Portugal in a drab affair down under. The goal came early and was almost not given but VAR coming to the rescue.
France vs Jamaica was a bore draw with nothing to now other than Jamaica are far more organized than one could’ve guessed.
What did we learn?
The French have no divine right to believe they can win games without doing the basics. The Swedes know how to win even when they’re not at their best. They could go far.
What’s coming tomorrow?
We finish round 1 with Brazil vs Panama, Germany taking on Morocco and Italy vs Argentina.
Killing It or Having A Shocker?
South Africa and Jamaica can both be proud of their performances.
